Not the dancers of Winds on Sunday night!  It an unprecedented evening in the desert…Path was in 3 sets completely clothed and Adam & Muse, Lil and I all seemed to divest ourselves of the outfits we started out with.  Well, if you count the fact that Beebs and Path were butt naked in Queenie’s set….but I digress and they were a little on the bony side…..Thankfully Annie was out in front looking lovely and dignified to pick up any slack or underpants that may have been left behind by the performers.

1 Annie

I think maybe we’ve all been gripped by the February blahs because the show on Sunday was “wham bam thank you ma’am” from stem to stern.  We started out with Kellan, who chose “Stayin’ Alive” by the Bee Gees and we never really looked back.  Kellan and Ridley were joined by Path and Aradia and Adam and Muse in on one of the best disco sets I’ve ever laid eyes on.  I think that Kellan pretty much bought out TIS for their dance floor and lights and she pulled all the fancy options together to make a set that was just fab, adorbs and PHAT and any other weird, new-fangled adjective that I have no comfort level with. It was impossible to sit still while taking notes and pictures and John Travolta would have been completely at home with Kells & Co.

2 Kellan

Our next act was a debut by Amanda. I hadn’t met her yet, so I had no idea what to expect, but I’ll tell you this…I demand more Amanda!  She chose Motley Crue’s “Kickstart my Heart”, and from the amazing sliding intro on guitars with rays shooting out of them to the huge heart wrapped in barbed wire that she danced on to the flaming guitar accents and the skull particles it was one action packed set.  My personal favorite was when a giant dagger slammed down right through the heart.  It was so unexpected I jumped.  It was a fantabulastic debut and I can’t wait to see where she goes from here 🙂  Welcome to the family Amanda!

3 Amanda

Devlin was next in our mancandy set and he chose Carrie Underwood’s “Cowboy Casanova”.  Now, those of you who are regulars at Winds may or may not have noticed a recurring theme with Devlin, and that is the appearance of two small male chickens…er…you know what to call them who seem to appear fairly regularly in his sets and often seem to find a way into the actual title of his song choices.  Well, the little buggers were there right on queue, but thankfully they were drowned out by the cat calls and wolf whistles to try to get Dev to strip as he sashayed his way around the stage.  A fun set…clearly created to make the women weak in the knees…or men, judgement free zone at Winds!

4 Devlin

Thankfully, we had Adam and Muse to cool us all off after that set…NOT!  Ok…so I love these two, they are wonderful people and wonderful dancers….they clearly dance from their hearts with sets that are sexy, sweet, sad, saucy.  The choreography is always great and the sets impeccable.  I was all mushy to the strains of Selena Gomez’ “Hands to Myself” as this gorgeous draped dining room with candles appeared and they got up from the table and danced…then…..WHAM!  Wait…what..er..um…bondage?  Where was the dress??  Where did the dental floss come from that they had on??  My eyes about bugged out of my head with the steamy scene that unfolded from the super sexy dance to Adam being punished because he was clearly a very bad boy at some point!  Wow is the only word I had for that set because I was worried the place was going to go up in flames.

5 Adam & Muse

This brings us to Babypea.  This is not the first time that I’ve seen this set, but I am beyond glad that she brought it to Winds to share with new friends.  It’s no secret that Baby is one of the most celebrated dancers in SL and this set was a perfect example of what sets her apart from everyone else.  She chose Jill Tracy’s “Haunted by the Though of You”. If you’ve never heard this song…google it…trust me, it’s gorgeous.  Baby starts at home walking upstairs to her bedroom which she fades too.  She has a beautiful picture behind her and a cool, swirly mirror.  She dances a beautiful dance and like magic, the ladies that were intertwined in marble in her picture join her to dance. The ladies were Jo, Alessandra, Kellan and Nadi.  The last special effect is when Ghost Gunner arrives from the mirror and dances a duet with Baby.  Damn I love these two.  They make magic together, with vision from Baby’s amazing mind and support from Gunner to trust whatever she may do to his avatar.  LOVE!!

6 Baby

That brings us to me.  I apparently was also a little off my game because I chose Ella Fitzegerald’s version of “Black Coffee” to give myself a boost.  Ella has a voice like smokey silk and somehow she can take the topic of coffee and turn it into something downright sexy.  Our regulars will tell you it’s a rare occasion when I strip…I get teased relentlessly in group chat…penelope prude pants, miss innocent, sister winnie…blah, blah blah, lol.  I love old school burlesque.  I have to have  a story to tell.  If I try to just be naughty, well I burst out laughing and never manage to finish the set.  *shrugs* My story was that I was all dressed up with no where to go, since my man done left me high and dry, so what else was I supposed to do but get out of that fancy dress, have some coffee and call it a night?

7 Winnie

God bless Queenie for bringing us all back to our senses with her set to Monty Python’s “Bright Side of Life”.  I cannot express enough how Queenie is my sister from another mister as my love for Monty Python is eclipsed only by my love of George Clooney.  There is not a line that I can’t recite from any movie…or Flying Circus, so I was tickled to death hardy har har with her set.  It included Beebs and Path as skeletons (read up for the naked bony joke in the intro), Aradia, Que, rhonda, and Amanda as long suffering prisoners and Jag as the Executioner.  I laughed so hard I cried.  I didn’t get a single picture I was laughing so hard.  The absolute best part was the kick line with that executioner planted firmly in the middle of his future victims high kicking his way right along with them 🙂  F.U.N!!

8 Queenie

Lil danced to Bittersweet’s “Dirty Laundry”.  There was a lot of laughter that went along with this set as well, as Lil was clad in a teensy little outfit and dancing with a fry pan and spatula while she spied on her neighbor.  I’m not sure who thought that reproducing the station wagon from Chevy Chase’s “Vacation” journey to Wallyworld was something anyone in SL would ever use, and yet Lil found one and planted it in her neighbor’s driveway.  Apparently, spying is very hard work because after Lil took care of breakfast, she had sweated so much that she had to add her apron and bra to the clothes on her laundry line 🙂  See?  Told you there was some major steaminess last night!!

9 Lil

Our last act of the evening was Kyshra and holy cow what a set it was!  A) the song: “Scream and Shout” by Will i. Am and Britney vs Knife Part vs Knack vs Fatboy Slim. B) the cast: Kyshra, Beebs, Path, Kellan, Adam, Queenie, Joss, Pan, Hitomi and Kitten.  C) the set:  a scifi extravaganza with dancers in lines, dancers up and down, dancers upright and upside down, flashing accents, sparkling textures, Tron outfits…I totally need to see this again because I’m pretty sure my brain only caught about 15% of the whole amazing thing.  What a great ending to a great show.

10 Kyshra

We were so glad to have you all with us last night.  We had the sim up to 65 at one point which was awesome and lag was kind to us.  We have had many new faces over the last few weeks and I know that some of you are new repeat guests.  We are so happy to have new friends join our family, because one of the things I enjoy most about dancing at Winds is what a great repeat audience we have.  Thank you all again for your wonderful support of the dancers and the venue, we couldn’t do it without you!  See you next Sunday 🙂

Welcome to another exciting evening in the desert! What a night it was! The camels were all put to bed early, the area swept up and the sand taken care of. Annie was our hostess tonight wearing a short, cute little red number that showed off most of her sexy legs. It was hard to concentrate on what I had to do if I watched her up there….but I digress.

1 Annie
First on the stage tonite was BabyPea dancing to I Need A Man To Love by Janis Joplin. I’m not sure what Gunner thinks of her asking for a man to love….*scratches head* because I thought that was him. I was going to talk about the set but whatever, you would have not even noticed a set if you saw her. She was wearing string and some chain and come material, and that was all…yea that was all. She was dancing in a cavern that was littered with the skeletons of the past men that tried to love her. She asked us, “All these men… they just hang around or lay around… they just don’t DO much for me. Ya know what I mean? Was I supposed to feed them? Anyone know what they eat?.” All she wanted was more to add to her collection….any volunteers??? What a silly question for her to ask! As one guest said, “What a way to go.” Enough said.

2 Baby
Next was Adam & Muse and they danced to Desert Rose by my all time favorite man to look at, Sting *fans self*. They took us to a desert mirage along with Rhonda and Amanda. The 4 of them danced in the hot sand, making us sweat a little watching the sexy belly dances they performed….or maybe that was Sting singing….either way it was a beautiful dance and a beautiful set complete with camels and pyramids and that killer sunset we all imagine seeing one day. As the song ended they hitched a ride on a flying carpet that took them to another distant mirage. Excellent job Adam and Muse!

3 Adam & Muse

Once the stage was clear and the camels removed we welcomed Meegan back to Winds as she danced to Icelandic Folk Music by Trykjaranid. The set was breathtaking. She had the northern lights swirling in the distance as she danced on a frozen stage. Her jacket of fur wrapped around her to keep her warm…..wait….her clothes are falling off….she’s going to freeze to death! Volunteers to cover her up….oh oh wait, I’m blogging! I can’t lie, her naked body was distracting me (like that’s bad)…I mean why wouldn’t it? She danced and swayed on the ice, and the music was entrancing! While all this was going on she also told us a story about a Icelandic couple that had to face and fight prejudice. We also found out that “Iceland became the first country in the world to ban stripping for feminist, not religious reasons. This law earned Iceland the title of World’s Most Feminist Country. But is it really feminist to take away a person’s right to choose to strip?” The whole set was just captivating, amazing job Meegan!

4 Meegan

Kellan was next, and I have to say as much as I love the original, I do love the cover as well. She danced to Sympathy For The Devil by Guns & Roses. What a set this was! She had some help from Gunner, BabyPea, Jilley and Kitten. The set began with her dancing in a pentagram on a graveyard, crows circled looking for a meal as blood seeped up from the ground. Rising from the ground was a vampire, a skeleton crawled in, a Nazi marched in and a zombie followed…all things that nightmares are made of. The stage exploded with fire catching the Nazi and frying him to demon as the set changed to Hell. Pleased to meet you…hope you guess my name! The 5 danced in Hell until they all burst into flames. Wow Kellan….just wow….that was pretty darn impressive! (although I’m kinda scared to see what Kellan dreams about.)

5 Kellan
Devlin took the stage next and danced to Big Bad Handsome Man….and woah…he was just that. Devlin’s set was a large parlor that was decorated complete with piano. Devlin danced around the set captivating us, making us agree that the song was about him. This week he stayed fully dressed (if you missed last week you missed seeing so much more of Dev), much to our dismay. Nicely done Devlin!

6 Devlin
I was last this week and I’m not really sure I know how to describe this set. The song is 8 Miles Wide by Storm Large. Storm attracted national attention on Rock Star: Supernova. She then went on to help out the band Pink Martini (among may other things), hence this song. When I heard it, all I saw was a scene from the movie Patch Addams when he was asked to welcome a group to the school. He makes a huge set of legs and lady parts and welcomes them with the words we are “at your cervix” as they enter the building through the…..well you get the picture. I made a large set of legs and lady parts which we danced around and on top of. I bet you are scratching you head thinking what the…..it was funny…really…promise.

7 Queenie

aaaaaanndd that is all she wrote folks! It was a crazy night in the desert, I hope you were able to be there and see it all in person. Missed it? Come see us this week and every week after! Happy Valentine’s Day

15 Monday Feb 2016

St. Valentine’s Day arrived in the desert on a red velvet carpet with hearts on the walls.  This day is fraught with stress, people either love it or hate it and then there is the giant commercial monster that rules a day full of chocolates and greeting cards, both sappy and silly and sadly also from either the cat or the dog…..ok…my dog may have given my husband a card…*coughs*

Annie was definitely in the mood in a hot pink number replete with a derby and cane.  There were some very strategically placed laces and some adorable bows.  I dubbed her the Ringmistress of our Valentine’s Day Circus.  Way to set the mood Miss Annie!

1 Annie

I was the opening act last night…and I guess I have some explaining to do 🙂  Errr, if you live in the US…and maybe even not…the Super Bowl was last weekend….that’s right the world championship for a sport played only in the US that doesn’t involve the use of your foot for much, other than running.  The real fun of the Super Bowl is the outrageously expensive ad campaigns….don’t let anyone tell you anything different…There was one ad that involved some sheep singing Queen…and well, there you have it.  Somebody to Love done by 7 sheep and one AK47 toting wolf…or Path, Jag, Ariel, Queenie, Baby, Jilley, Beebs and me…as accessorized sheep on a mission to find love…or something like that 🙂

2 Winnie

Thankfully, everyone after me was much more sane that I was…sort of.  Devlin chose Madonna’s “Justify My Love” on a pretty set in blues and purples with candles and a piano and moonlight on the water.  So romantic!  In a deviation from his normal…Devlin decided that he was a present that needed some unwrapping…and unwrap he did into the teensiest speedo ever!  Wooohooooo!

3 Devlin

Next up was Baby with a cast of thousands.  In a St. Valentine’s tribute to “The Walking Dead”, Baby was Michonne, Gunner was Daryl, Jilley was Rick, Fuki was Maggie and Kellan was Glenn.  That left myself, Ariel, Jo, Beebs, Lily and Queenie as the undead who rose to dance to Clutch’s “Regulator”.  What a set!  There was a field, there was a fade to a nice fenced area to keep us out, there were zombies rising from the earth and we all just go along and dances out little hearts out…literally…and maybe an arm or leg too!  Holy fun Batman!

4 Baby

Thank heavens for Meegan!  She came out in the smexiest of smexy lingerie to Elle King’s “Ex’s and Oh’s”.  I love this song 🙂  Meegan was smoldering on her bed as she told us the story of how she has better things to do than deal with men who have let her down.  I’m surprised that she didn’t burn the house down with all of the heat that she was generating. I thought we might have to hose down the audience!  Luckily…our darling little Meegan calmed them all down with her ending…where she faded to her back yard where all of her exes were…expired…and buried.  Great ending!  Classic!!

5 Meegan

Muse and Adam were joined by Path and Rhonda who thankfully took us to a happier place with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ “Same Love”.  An amazing song that was given a fitting tribute.  The set was a great mix of all sorts of signs that were well, hateful.  Which was the point.  This song is so powerful…it’s about loving and accepting everyone and the great rainbow outfits they wore were a testament to tolerance.  The scene faded to signs of acceptance and our men dance together as did our ladies.  It was a moment of love and overcoming fear…too much of our world is polarized by fear and hate. I loved this set and all that it stood for.

6 Aman & Muse

This brings us to Queenie.  She chose J. Geil’s Band…”Love Stinks”.  I did mention that this was a bit of a circus show….right?  Leave it to Queenie to find an angel outfit, adorn it with a respirator in the shape of a heart (a gacha gift, I asked, lol) and fart hearts.  That’s right ladies and gentlemen….FARTICLES! I was laughing so hard I almost missed most of the set.  It was irreverent, funny, sexy and sassy, in a word…. Queenie 🙂

7 Queenie

Kellan wrapped up our evening, thankfully on a super classy note, to cleanse the palette so to speak and bring us back around to the true meaning of a Happy Valentine’s Day.  Love, beauty, tango and particles.  This set is gorgeous…really, really gorgeous….like…I want to get married on it gorgeous….and then there was the song!  Tango Fusion Club’s Bandozean Acorazad.  HOT! Kellan and Ridley, Baby and Gunner and Pan and Beebs tangoed ,the men were handsome, the ladies were stunning and Jo and Starlena rained down from the heavens to join the couples amongst the ethereal particles that swirled and floated around the dancers.  Finally!  A little romance to end our evening 🙂

8 Kellan

I hope you all enjoyed yourselves as much as we clearly did.  It was a fun, interesting and nontraditional tribute to that most traditional of holidays.  The thing I love most about dance in SL is that you just never know what is going to happen, even at a show with a theme as vanilla as Valentine’s day.  A wholly creative evening 🙂 Thank you all so much for sharing your special evening with us and we also enjoyed seeing on the roof after the show.  It’s fun to dance and chat with everyone…come on up next week and don’t be afraid to ask where we get our quirky ideas from 🙂

Sweet Dreams, Fire, Parades, Silence, Bondage & an Airplane! What a night at Winds!

07 Sunday Feb 2016

Hi everyone! Welcome to another review from the desert. It was a pretty crazy night, with some wild acts, if I do say so myself. Of course, no evening at the Winds is the same if the lovely Annie isn’t out there in front meeting and greeting and looking spectacular as always! Tonight she wore a barely there silver silk outfit, and I mean bare was there!! Ooh La La Annie!

1 Annie

Laissez les bons temps rouler! We had not one but TWO Mardi Gras themed dances this evening. Tuesday is Fat Tuesday…and I have to admit I know so little about Mardi Gras being a Yankee and all. All I know is boobs, beads, music, parades and beer. I kinda assume there is more to it than that! Winnie brought us to the Bourbon Street Parade, along for the party was Roni, BB, Lotta, Kellen, Jo and me. We danced and shimmied down the street with the balloons and the band playing wearing some very cool outfits. I didn’t earn any beads though…maybe next year!

2 WinnieWe swept up the confetti and popped all the balloons just in time for Gunner to take the stage. Welcome back to G and his return to the Winds stage! We are glad you are back. Tonight Gunner brought along 2 demons by the names of BabyPea & Jilley and they danced to The Wizard by Black Sabbath. This was one very cool set and I know I can’t do it justice with words but it starts out as a stage with 2 houses that faded into the lava…then we have fire….lots of fire and lava and demons! Gunner floats around the stage on a hot lava/fire rock as the demons fly around him….I’m not sure if this was good vs evil or just evil but whatever, the effects were awesome and it was a killer set!

3 Gunner

After we all cooled down a bit, Devlin took the stage and…what is this? MORE FIRE? Well, kind of….Devlin danced this week to Fireball by Pitbull and had 4 sexy helpers, Ariel, Muse, Meegan and Amanda with him. His set was a jungle with a cool ruin in the center that he danced on before he joined the women. This song is so infectious and you can’t help but sing and dance a little to it. Getting to watch some sexy dancers just sweetens the deal. Awesome set Devlin!

4 Devlin

Kellan, Kellan, Kellan….damn woman you are the mover Queen! You ever wondered how dancers get things to move across the stage or rise from the floor or dance from one place to another? They use a mover. Each start and stop is a mover….each mover is timed as to when to move and stop. Kellan had so much going on in this set I can’t imagine how many it took to get her things to move like they did. She danced to Sweet Dreams (are made of these) by Marilyn Manson, just the song is creepy as it is, and Kellan added a visual to the creepiness. She started in a bedroom and the set opened up to an asylum complete with patients. That transformed to a graveyard as a big hand rises from the ground and picks her up. It moves her up and down, blood pours all over the ground, hands reach out to her from the floor! AHHHHHH!! One last time the hand raises her and she has angel wings on…only to die on the cross. Kellan…no more eating before bed, you have some weird dreams!

5 Kellan

Lotta let the good times roll and brought us back to Bourbon Street. Lotta is a funny woman, and her emotes are even funnier. Being a native of Louisiana she took the opportunity to teach us the rules and guidelines for visiting Mardi Gras.
“So as a native of Louisiana, I thought it would be a good idea to tell you all a few rules for non-locals during Mardi Gras. I feel the need to both warn and educate them about the dos and dont’s of the festivities.” Some of them were…don’t pick up beads from the street because people puke and pee in the street, and you just look like an idiot! Yes there will be body parts flashed. No you cannot grope them! People decorate with the beads, they are not free for the taking! Be respectful! Her costume was just gorgeous and it was a fun set to the song They All Ask’d For You by The Meters (which is funny too!).

6 Lotta

We had to leave Mardi Gras behind for the next set. Adam and Muse were part of a very sexy airplane ride….mine are never this fun. There was a lot of skin shown by the pilot (Adam) and stewardesses (Muse & Amanda)….again, never when I fly!
They danced to the song Like a G6 by Far East Movement. The set allowed us to look inside a plane…I don’t know who was flying it as Adam was dancing. What should happen? All that sexiness blew the door off the side of the plane! We they sucked out to their deaths? Noooo they danced out on the wing of the plane until they activated their parachutes and floated away! What I liked the most was the use of moving visuals….the clouds moved, the birds flew by making us think it was actually moving. Super cool Adam and Muse! Thank you for flying the friendly skies!

7 Adam & MuseI was up next and I danced to The Sounds of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel. The set was black with only a street light as I danced out. I faded to a rainy cobblestone street as a clock tower rose from the floor. Dancing in front of the clock until the end when we heard them sing…
“And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said “The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls
And whispered in the sound of silence”
The neon words slowly lowered from the ceiling to a once again dark set.
I read a lot about this song, trying to get a feel of what they were trying to tell us…and each article was vastly different and profound. To me, it struck a cord with all the crazy political things that are happening right now, and that is why I chose it.

8 Queenie

Our last act of the evening was BabyPea…yes Mz BP is back! It was like a college reunion at Winds! In true BP fashion, we were taken on a strange ride into the mind of our fellow dancer. The song is The Bondage Song by London After Midnight and Baby chose an Alice in Wonderland theme. Baby was Alice and joining her was Gunner and Wild. The set starts out as a room with an alice theme and then swirls (literally) into a spiral and Baby is sucked into it, way cool effect by the way. It pops her out into a bondage room. Here Alice and others have shed some clothes which left me scratching my head…did I miss this chapter when I read the book? Was this like an alternative ending to the movie? Was the movie actually named Alice in BondageLand? Either way….it doesn’t matter, it was a very wild set! Applause BP and welcome back!

9 Baby

Phew! We made it out the other side! What a wild evening. Thank you all for joining us once again, supporting The Winds and letting us perform for you each and every week. Thank you to our sponsors and our very sexy DJ/Boss Woman, Mz Rebecca. See you all next week for our Valentine’s Show! Who knows what we will see then! Have a great week until we meet in the desert once again.

A Spectacular Sunday Show

01 Monday Feb 2016

It was an amazing show on Sunday 01.31.16 at Winds of the Sahara.  We had a debut, we had a circus, we had angels, sultry silky slaves, sexy men and women, BB King and David Bowie…and that’s just the teaser!  64 people made the pilgrimage to the desert…and we had Queenie to greet them until Annie was able to arrive and with the Night Boat to Cairo we set sail into an evening of fun and fantastic dance!

1 Annie

Starlena opened for us with a set that can only be described at HOT!  The strains of Dark Music’s “The Sealed Kingdom” wafted out over the audience and from the fiery bowels of the theater came Adam and Muse and Path and Lotta…all sinewy and sexy and wearing some of the most wonderful silks I’ve seen in SL.  The couples danced and as they took up a slave and master stance, Star joined them onstage and then the real show began.  The dancing was sensual and combined with the costumes and lava and temple…well, it’s a darned good thing that we have fire extinguishers and cold showers in the form of waterfalls at the sides of the stage!

2 Star

Devlin had to follow that up after we stomped out any remaining flames on the dance floor.  He chose  Joe Tex’s “Sassy, Sexy Wiggle” from the Magic Mike soundtrack.  Devlin’s set was gold and shiny and he had some silhouettes of sexy dancing ladies behind him. He did his level best to make Channing Tatum jealous in a fun and sassy set that had all the ladies hot and bothered and also looking for a cold shower 🙂

3 Devlin

We had a debut for the third set…my dear friend Jo, who most audience goers recognize as JMB.  It’s ok to call her Jo, I promise.  So Jo brought us a BB King set to “Shake It Up and Go” which is a hopping tune!  She was joined by Roni and I and Seb on guitar and Nevar on drums in one awfully nice bar!  Seb and Nevar are both great dancers as well, and it was a lot of fun to introduce new faces to you 🙂  The set snazzy, the dresses were smokin’ and our band was freaking awesome!  It was a really wonderful set to debut and we hope that Jo will join us every now and then so we can enjoy more of her fabulously done sets!

4 JMB

Adam and Muse were up next with a set that was made to break our hearts.  Now, you all know that I love a good tearjerker.  Sometimes I have to force myself to stop doing sets like that.  This set is definitely my favorite Adam and Muse sets of all time.  The song was a mash up of “Life Goes On and Tears Of An Angel” and it was a tribute to the memories of loved ones that both of them have lost, but also a reminder to all of us to take the time and love those we still have with us and also to honor the memories of those we no longer have with us here on earth.  Costumes…stunning….set….ethereal….music….beautiful….  A moment for everyone to pause and reflect on those who touch our lives.

5 Adam & Muse

Lotta…Lotta, Lotta, Lotta!  What can I say?  Patti LaBelle’s “Lady Marmalade”.  A classic song…a classic outfit…a really awesome set…seriously…I tried to steal it….blah, blah, blah…no transfer…blah, blah….and then there was super sexy, un-shy, hot and fabulous Lotta.  She’s a girl that knows the power of a good emote and strip sequence…and she knows how to use her um “assets” to her advantage! *points again to the cold shower waterfalls*

6 Lotta

David Bowie took to the planks next…oh…wait…I mean…the name-tag said Queenie, but what I saw was Bowie…in his Ziggy Stardust phase…in his iconic suit with the Bowie hair.. “Life On Mars” took center stage with media screens to the side and slide shows to boot.  It was a great set…another I would steal but for that annoying permissions problem I seem to have….. the media showed shots from Bowie’s life and the last shot right before we lost him.  An amazing tribute to an amazing artist…the world lost a little color the day that Bowie passed from this mortal coil….but the heavens got a new type of rainbow.

7 Queenie

Kellan was our finale for the evening and what a finale it was!  Britney Spears’ “Circus” was the song that was the canvas that Kellan painted an amazing circus set onto.  She was joined by: Adam as the Ringmaster, Kellan as the Beauty, Wild as the conjoined twins, me as the bearded lady, Gunner as the lion tamer, Muse as the snake charmer, Jo as the fortune teller, Path as the mime, and Babypea as the red clown and Queenie as the black clown. This set was crazy awesome!  We started out in our various sideshows and merged into a Big Top center stage spectacle with clowns on balls, girls on the high wire…the mover work on this *faints*…I call Kells the “mover queen” and she is!  Her imagination, attention to detail and sheer determination to make it all work is an inspiration…and what fun it was to be invited to be in this creation!

8 Kellan

On that note…the evening came to an end.  It was a really fun show…shows are good, shows can touch your heart, shows can be solid, shows can be themed…but every now and then…shows are just FUN…bouncy, chair dancing, be-bopping good times.  I’m not sure if I can think of a better way to say goodnight to the weekend….other than to spend it again with us next week to see what sort of a rabbit we may pull out of our hat 🙂  Thank you all for sharing another amazing Sunday with us in the desert!
